About

Cybersecurity shouldn't require a degree

CyberWatch exists to make the online world a little safer for ordinary people — by explaining real events clearly and teaching the habits that actually matter.

Why this site exists

Every week brings another breach, another scam, another scary headline full of jargon. For most people the message lands as just one thing: be afraid. That's not helpful — and it's not necessary.

The truth is that a small number of simple habits protect you from the overwhelming majority of attacks. CyberWatch pairs the news with the know-how: we explain what happened, why it matters to you, and exactly what to do about it.

What you'll find here

News — real cybersecurity events, rewritten so anyone can understand them, each with a "what to do" takeaway. Learn the basics — lessons organized from beginner to advanced and by topic, so you can start anywhere and grow. Tools & Resources — trustworthy, mostly-free apps to put each lesson into practice. Glossary — a plain-English dictionary for whenever a term trips you up.
